GPS

Les 3 Randonnées use the most modern technology whilst accompanying you on your walks. You are given a plastic sealed walking map scale 1: 25.000 and our GPS receiver.

Before you set off, you take a short walk at the first address to familiarize with the GPS navigator.

Before you start the next day, we talk you through your day’s walk and you receive a walking map from us, a route description and the GPS receiver. We have plotted the walk with a GPS (global-position-system) and programmed various marking points. You then walk from one point to the other and can check on the GPS if you are going in the right direction. The marking points are listed on the walking map and the route description as well.

The receiver provides permanently the following information:

  • Your position in relation to the marking points in meters

  • Direction and distance to the next marking point

  • Compass direction

  • Your average walking speed

  • The height you find yourself

  • The total amount of kilometres already covered

  • Status and quality of received satellite signals

  • And a lot more…….

Finally you can verify your position on the map.

The GPS receiver is an expensive appliance for which we ask a deposit of € 100,-.
We return this amount to you at the end of your stay.

If you are not familiar with GPS or even do not want to understand it, you can walk the tracks without the GPS receiver; no problem!

La Grande Combe, La Libaudié, and Lapaloup are situated in the centre of Vallée du Tarn and on an average distance of 16 kilometres from each other. In between we plotted a number of walks leading you over hills and valleys varying from 200 to 550 metres high. Through woodland with chestnut-, oak- and beech trees and many flowers. Over shaded boxwood lanes leading you along streams and creeks, but also over pastureland with fabulous views and banks of clouds and through villages such as Coupiac, Brousse la Chateau or Saint Izaire where one can catch one's breath again sitting at an outdoor café enjoying a French lunch.
